Finalised Sidekick Outline
Here is my finalised sidekick as an outline and posed for action! Next up colour experiments trying to link him to my heroine.
Sidekick Development to Final Design
After Justin helpfully sent me a few links I tried to make my sidekick more 60s-fied with retro cameras, fans and umm strange hand massage machines. There was also of course the lava lamp influence carried forward. I also tried to figure out how my sidekick would 'work' such as how he could rotate his head, close his wings and show expression in his face. I chose suitable 1960s appliances/technology to adapt for each of these roles.
The which has now become a very scruffy sketch of my sidekick was me trying to pose him and also figuring out how to put the owl wing anatomy back in so that he looked convincing. He is not yet fully posed right in this image I have a few tweaks to do for my final image of him. However, I am very happy with him :)

Heroine Final Props: Gadget Belt
My heroine didn't seem complete without another prop as she had her gun, something to link her to her sidekick but nothing to keep her gadgets on her sleek outfit so I designed a sort of utility belt which she could slip her gadgets into loops or hook onto metal rings which reflected her headband design. The middle ring also allows a small camera to click into place which allows my heroine's agency to see how events are unfolding without affecting the agent's process on the mission. I also linked this to my sidekick's eye design with how his eyelids close like a shutter.
Heroine Final Props: Jewellery Gauntlet
Because my heroine has the role of a secret agent it didn't seem right that she only had a gun as typically secret agents have lots of gadgets. I also wanted something that would make sense in connecting her sidekick with her.
Because her sidekick is a robotic owl I looked at the equipment used for falcon training which included a sort of glove gauntlet for them to sit on on the owner's arm. I thought this would work but just not in that form so I looked at 1960s jewellery to make it seem suitable to be on my heroine. I added a nice big circle for a button to sit in which adds to the circle theme going on in her outfit so now she can press the button to call her owl to her.

Heroine Final Props: Gun
As my heroine is a secret agent it seemed only fitting that she should have a gun. However, I sci-fied it up a bit and gave it some 1960s characteristics as well as matching some of its design elements to my heroine's outfit design. I'm reminded some of her boots when I look at this gun don't ask me why though!
Heroine Turnaround
Here is the turnaround showing front, side and back views of my heroine. I struggled most with the side view and still am not sure that there are elements that are right so this is definitely something I want to continue practising in my spare time after the project.
Heroine Facial Expressions
Here are the facial expressions for my heroine. I did them by hand rather than on photoshop as I was not getting results I was happy with when using the tablet.
